U.S. President Donald Trump has denied that he is considering running for a third term in office, stating in a new interview that he remains committed to the constitutional two-term limit for presidents.

"I'll be an eight-year president, I'll be a two-term president. I always thought that was very important," Trump said during an interview with NBC바카라s Meet the Press, set to air Sunday. The comments come amid renewed speculation following the sale of 바카라Trump 2028바카라 merchandise by his company and his own history of flirtatious remarks about extending his time in office.

Trump has previously stated that he was 바카라not joking바카라 about the idea of a third or even fourth term. However, he later claimed those remarks were made to provoke the media, which he often derides as 바카라fake news.바카라

The U.S. Constitution, through the 22nd Amendment, clearly prohibits any individual from being elected president more than twice. Amending the Constitution to change that would require a two-thirds majority in both houses of Congress and ratification by three-quarters of U.S. states 바카라 a political near-impossibility in the current climate.

Nonetheless, some of Trump바카라s supporters have circulated theories suggesting legal loopholes could allow a third term, although such interpretations have never been tested in court.

Asked whether anyone has formally approached him with these ideas, Trump sidestepped the question, saying, 바카라In a capacity of being a big supporter, many people have said different things.바카라

He acknowledged receiving 바카라many requests바카라 from people urging him to stay beyond a second term but said he does not intend to pursue that path. 바카라But this is not something I바카라m looking to do,바카라 Trump said, noting that he sees potential successors within his own administration, including Vice-President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

바카라I think four years is plenty of time to do something really spectacular,바카라 he added, referring to his current second term, which began in January 2025.

The interview also touched on the economy, with Trump brushing off criticism over a recent contraction. 바카라Everything바카라s OK,바카라 he said, characterizing the downturn as a temporary adjustment caused by his new tariff policies. 바카라This is a transition period. I think we바카라re going to do fantastically.바카라

When asked whether he expected the economy to continue shrinking, Trump responded: 바카라Anything can happen. But I think we바카라re going to have the greatest economy in the history of our country.바카라
