Dino Morea - a bollywood actor -  was questioned by the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Mumbai Police on Monday in an alleged ₹65 crore Mithi River desilting scam, PTI reported.

Dino was summoned because of the phone conversations between him, Santino and the prime accused, Ketan Kadam - one of the arrested accused in the case. The conversations are under investigation, as per Hindustan Times.

Mumbai police registered a case against 13 people earlier this month, including contractors and civic officials, for the  scam related to the desilting of the Mithi River, which flows through the city.

What is the Mithi River desilting alleged scam

The scam is regarding the irregularities in the rental of silt pusher machines and dredging equipment by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). Two accused - Ketan Kadam and Jayesh Joshi - were arrested for allegedly acting as intermediaries in the supply of equipment, for charging the BMC extra amount for the said equipment.

According to the Hindustan Times, Ketan serves as the director of Woder India LLP, a Mumbai-based company specializing in desilting services, while Jayesh is affiliated with Virgo Specialties Pvt Ltd, an industrial product manufacturer also based in Mumbai.
