A group of drunk men molested a 25-year-old woman in broad daylight in Bengaluru and assaulted her while she was out buying groceries. As per media reports, the incident occurred around 4 pm on Sunday in southern Bengaluru, near Renuka Yellamma Layout, near Mailasandra in Anekal taluk. The incident was caught on CCTV cameras.
The case is currently under investigation by the Bannerghatta Police. Bengaluru Rural SP CK Baba confirmed that a case has been registered against the accused under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. "The primary accused has been arrested. Two to three others seen on CCTV are yet to be secured but will be picked up shortly," the SP added.
Another official associated with the investigation told PTI that based on the accused's counter-complaint, another case of assault has been registered against the woman and the gym trainer.
"Based on the woman바카라s complaint, we have registered a case of molestation and included sections 74 (assault or criminal force to a woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 351 (criminal intimidation), 352 (punishment for assault or criminal force otherwise than on grave provocation), and 126 (wrongful restraint) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at Bannerghatta police station," he further said.
Quoting the woman, India Today reported that she had just stepped out to buy groceries when she saw a group of 4바카라5 drunk men fighting on the road, in an area which comes under the Bannerghatta Police Station limits. As she walked past them, they allegedly started making lewd remarks, tried to touch her, and surrounded her.
The woman also claimed that when she tried to resist, they used vulgar and obscene language against her and physically attacked her. In self-defence, she allegedly hit one of them.

As per reports, the woman then informed her gym trainer, who later confronted and allegedly assaulted the accused. The man sustained injuries and was hospitalised.
On April 3, a similar case was reported where a man was caught on CCTV molesting a woman in Bengaluru바카라s BTM Layout. An FIR under Section 354B (assault or use of criminal force with intent to disrobe a woman) was registered at the Suddaguntepalya Police Station, following a complaint filed by a local resident.
