A special flight carrying 290 Indian nationals and one Sri Lankan national from Mashhad arrived in New Delhi on 23 June as part of India's evacuation programme amid rising tensions between Iran and Israel following U.S. airstrikes on Iranian nuclear facilities.
Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal confirmed the arrival. With this, 2003 Indian nationals have been brought back safely from Iran so far.
The evacuation came in the wake of a major US military escalation targeting three key Iranian nuclear sites amid the ongoing conflict with Israel.
Indian authorities are closely monitoring the situation and have urged all Indian nationals in the region to remain in touch with the Indian Embassy and follow official advisories.
A day before, 311 Indian nationals from Iran landed in New Delhi. MEA confirmed that the flight originated from the Iranian city of Mashhad. Before that, hundreds of Indian students were evacuated from conflict-hit Iran.
Termed as 바카라Operation Sindhu,바카라 India바카라s evacuation efforts were aided by Iranian authorities temporarily lifting their airspace ban to allow charter flights to depart, the Indian government said.
Iran had lifted its airspace ban on Friday to let out three chartered flights carrying over 1000 Indians, students from cities such as Mashhad and Tehran.
The evacuation is a result of escalating hostilities between Iran and Israel following the Jewish State바카라s June 13 air strike on the Islamic Republic. India had earlier issued advisories urging students to relocate to safer areas such as Qom and Mashhad, and facilitated overland travel to Armenia for those without transport.
