Pakistan's Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar used a "fake" news report attributed to a UK-based daily to praise his country's Air Force in the Senate. Citing the viral "fake news", Dar told lawmakers that 'The Daily Telegraph' reported that "Pakistan Air Force is the undisputed king of the skies."
Pakistan local newspaper Dawn and Press Information Bureau clarified that the post referred to in Ishaq Dhar's speech was AI-generated and the UK newspaper never made such claim.
Since India launched 'Operation Sindoor' on May 7, there has been several cases misinformation and false claims where such posts were seen circulating on social media and used by people in the position of power.

Ishaq Dhar's claim was fact-checked by the Dawn newspaper, which termed the viral news report as "fake".
Calling out the fake news report, the newspaper stated, "Posts from multiple users across social media have been circulating a photo since May 10, 2025, allegedly showing the front page of UK-based The Daily Telegraph newspaper declaring the Pakistan Air Force the 바카라King of the Skies바카라 amid the recent escalation with India. However, there was no such article published and the screenshot is a fake."
It said one Barrister Khadija Siddiqi on May 10 posted a photo of the fake news attributed to the British daily, featuring a news story accompanied by a headline that read: 바카라Pakistan Air Force: The Undisputed King of the Skies바카라.
The post was viewed by over 66,000 people.
The image was also shared on Facebook by Ikhtiar Wali Khan, the prime minister바카라s coordinator on information for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, on May 11.
Press Information Bureau바카라s Fact Check unit also published the viral image of the front page of UK-based newspaper The Daily Telegraph, with the headline that reads, "Pakistan Air Force: The undisputed king of the skies바카라 dated 10th May 2025.
PIB Fact Check in their post on X wrote, "This claim is false. The image being circulated is AI-generated. The Daily Telegraph has NEVER carried any such article."
The Indian press agency also shared a video of Pakistan Finance Minister speaking at the Senate which they said, "This fake claim was further amplified by Pakistan바카라s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar during his statement to the Senate on 15 May 2025."
"By endorsing a completely fabricated image and headline, Pakistan intentionally lent official weight to a piece of digital deception," they added.
