India took diplomatic action on Wednesday, expelling a Pakistan High Commission official from New Delhi for involvement in unauthorised activities.
The actions were taken against the backdrop of heightened tensions between the two countries following a recent four-day military standoff.
The Charg d'Affaires of the Pakistan High Commission was summoned and handed a demarche to this effect, the MEA said.

"He was asked to strictly ensure that none of the Pakistani diplomats or officials in India misuse their privileges and status in any manner," the MEA said in a statement.

This is the second time in the last seven days that a Pakistani official has been declared persona non grata. Earlier on May 13, officer Ehsan-ur-Rahim alias Danish was expelled on charges of espionage activities.
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said the official has been given 24 hours to leave the country.
