National Capital Delhi on Friday received an advisory on COVID-19 directing hospitals in the national capital to keep beds, oxygen, medications, and vaccines available.

According to the Union Health Ministry, as of Wednesday, India recorded a total of 257 active cases. The cases have been on a surge in states of Maharashtra, Telangana, Haryana, Kerala, Gujarat and Karnataka.
Kerala remains the worst affected state, which recorded 273 cases in May, as per Financial Express. State's Health Minister Veena George said that the early symptom reporting and district-level vigilance will be increased.

In Uttar Pradesh, four cases have been reported and the patients are undergoing treatment at private hospitals. The administration has stepped up monitoring efforts.
