Amid the honey trap scandal chaos during the session, the Karnataka Assembly on Friday passed a Muslim quota bill 바카라“ providing 4 per cent reservation in public contracts. The opposition BJP called the proposal "unconstitutional", and the party pledged to contest it in court.
Following the bill's passage, BJP leaders stormed the well of the House and chanted slogans against the Siddaramaiah government. BJP Leaders were also seen climbing up to the Speaker's seat, escalating their protest and hurling papers at the Speaker.
"Instead of discussing the honey trap scam, the Chief Minister was busy presenting the 4 per cent Muslim bill and hence we protested. The government MLAs also tore papers and threw books at us; we didn바카라™t harm anybody," BJP MLA Bharath Shetty said.
Amid the chaos, the Assembly passed the budget and the bills to increase the salaries, pensions and allowance of MLAs, ministers and the CM.
The BJP, led by opposition leader R Ashoka, shouted slogans against the government for providing four per cent reservation to Muslims in public contracts.
Earlier, the BJP was protesting from the well of the house against an alleged attempt to "honey trap" a minister and demanded a judicial probe into it even as the chief minister read out his reply to the budget discussion.
