Kuki Tribals Protest Against Manipur Government

Members of the Kuki tribe are protesting against the Manipur government in Delhi. Ethnic violence in the state, which went on for days and was contained after several thousands of military and central paramilitary personnel were deployed in the state, killed over 70 people, displaced several thousands, and destroyed over a thousand buildings, including religious places. Some tribals have demanded a separate administrative set-up for the state's tribal areas.
