West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on May 5 raised serious concerns over what she described as a 바카라disturbing pattern바카라 of harassment targeting Bengali-speaking individuals in neighbouring Odisha.

Addressing the issue publicly, Banerjee said she had instructed the Director General of Police (DGP) of West Bengal to take up the matter directly with his counterpart in Odisha.

The Chief Minister바카라s remarks come amid reports that Bengali-speaking migrant workers from West Bengal are being subjected to intimidation and attacks in parts of Odisha.

바카라Just as migrant workers from Odisha live and work peacefully in Bengal, people from Bengal should be able to do the same in Odisha,바카라 Banerjee said. 바카라I have received troubling reports that even individuals simply speaking Bengali are being targeted. This is unacceptable and deeply condemnable.바카라

Reaffirming her government바카라s commitment to protecting the rights and safety of Bengali-speaking citizens, Banerjee said the matter would be taken up at the highest level. 바카라Our DGP will speak to the Odisha DGP. We will not tolerate any attacks on our people,바카라 she declared.

There has been no official response yet from the Odisha government on the allegations. The situation is likely to draw further attention as both states work to clarify the circumstances behind the reported incidents.
