Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) President Mehbooba Mufti on Sunday urged a united fight against religious polarisation.
She warned of a potential repeat of the 1947-like riots. She emphasised that the majority of Hindus in India are secular and stressed the need to stand against forces trying to divide people.

The PDP leader warned that if India starts oppressing its minorities, it will be no different from countries like Bangladesh.

Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir BJP leaders demanded action against Mufti for her "anti-national" remarks.
