NASA's Boeing Starliner astronauts Sunita 'Suni' Williams and Barry 'Butch' Wilmore, along with two others, have already undocked from the International Space Station (ISS) and are scheduled to splash down on Earth Tuesday evening.
NASA will provide live coverage of the SpaceX Crew-9 mission as the "Dragon Freedom" capsule carries four astronauts back to Earth from the International Space Station. The crew includes SpaceX Crew-9 astronaut Nick Hague, along with Russian astronaut Alexander Gorbunov, as well as NASA astronauts Williams and Wilmore.
Williams and Wilmore originally launched to the ISS on June 5 aboard a Boeing Starliner spacecraft. After technical issues arose with the Starliner, they remained aboard the ISS. In September 2024, NASA sent the uncrewed Starliner back to Earth to free up a docking port for other spacecraft.
Now, after nine months in space, Williams and Wilmore are set to return to Earth aboard SpaceX's "Dragon Freedom" capsule, owned by Elon Musk's SpaceX.
