The Supreme Court on Wednesday granted anticipatory bail to former IAS trainee officer Puja Khedkar who is accused of forging documents to avail OBC and disability quota in the Union Public Service Examination (UPSC) process, as reported by PTI.
The bench including Justices B V Nagarathna and Satish Chandra Sharma instructed Khedkar to cooperate in the probe.
While granting the bail, the bench asserted that, 바카라What is the grave crime she has committed? She is not a drug lord or a terrorist. She has not committed 302 (murder). She is not an NDPS offender. The Delhi police counsel opposed the anticipatory bail granted to the accused on the ground that she was not cooperating with the investigation and the allegations that are levelled against her are serious in nature.
The bench stated that, "Bearing in mind the facts and circumstances of the case, this is a fit case where the Delhi High Court ought to have granted bail to the petitioner.바카라
The court had earlier asked Khedkar to appear before the Delhi police last month while stating that she will not be arrested.
Khedkar is accused of producing incorrect information in her application to qualify for reservation benefits in the 2022 UPSC civil services examination. Following the incident, the UPSC had cancelled her candidature, banned her from any examination under the body and also lodged a criminal case against her.
