Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Uddhav Thackeray on Wednesday alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was attempting to derail a prospective alliance between his faction and the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), led by his cousin Raj Thackeray.
According to PTI, addressing his party바카라s foundation day gathering in Sion, Thackeray claimed that concerted efforts were being made to prevent the unification of Marathi regional parties. He made indirect reference to a recent meeting between Raj Thackeray and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, reportedly held at a city hotel.
Quoting from the 1991 film Prahaar, Thackeray likened himself to the protagonist, challenging his political opponents, whom he described as 바카라traitors바카라. He also invoked imagery from the film Trishul, stating that if attacked, his adversaries would require an ambulance바카라signalling retaliation. Thackeray further accused the BJP of reneging on pre-poll assurances, including financial assistance under the Laadki Bahin scheme and farm loan waivers.
At a concurrent rally in Worli, as cited by PTI, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde criticised Thackeray for what he termed as ideological compromise. Shinde alleged that the UBT faction had aligned with the Congress purely out of political expediency. He contended that Thackeray바카라s group, formed in October 2022, had no claim to the original party바카라s foundation and that their statements were being exploited internationally to discredit India.
As reported by The Hindu, the events reflected the deepening ideological and organisational fissures within the Shiv Sena. While Thackeray draws upon cultural references and regional identity to consolidate his support base, Shinde continues to assert his alignment with the founding principles laid down by Bal Thackeray, positioning his faction as the legitimate political heir. The competing rallies signalled not just a battle for control, but a wider contestation over the party바카라s historical and ideological legacy in Maharashtra
