Thiago Motta returned to his old haunt Inter Milan with his scary new Bologna side in tow before supplying the dread through a cup knockout punch. Bologna, on the night, beat Inter 2-1, with all three goals coming in the 30-minute-long extra period after a goalless regular time. Carlos Augusto scored first for the Serie A league leaders, only for Sam Beukema and Dan Ndoye to turn the tide around late on with striker Joshua Zirkzee supplying two magical assists for the goals.
