The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has come up with additional measures to curb age fudging in junior cricket. In a decision taken at BCCI's apex council meeting, it was agreed upon that the board will now allow for a second bone test for players whose 'bone age' exceeds the threshold - 16 years for boys and 15 years for girls.
The move aims to curb age fudging which is a problem at the lower levels of Indian cricket.
Currently, once the bone age is identified, one year is added to it and that age become the criteria for a player to play the next season for ages up to 16. Under the new system, if the player is still under 16 on paper at the start of the new season, another test will be done to decide their bone age. If they pass that test, only then these players will be allowed to appear in under-16 cricket.
For girls, the threshold age will be 15.
바카라It is being done to have an exact age and make sure that no player loses due to arithmetical calculation rather than scientific calculation,바카라 a BCCI source told PTI.
바카라This means that the bone age of a player has to be 16.4 or below in the following season in male cricketers and 14.9 or below in case of females for participation,바카라 the source said.
바카라It바카라s possible that this arithmetical calculation does not accurately reflect a player바카라s actual age, which could cause them to lose out on a year of eligibility,바카라 the source added.
As per Cricbuzz, another trick was being used for age fudging where some parents were reportedly sending younger ones to undergo the tests in place of the actual players. BCCI has now mandated a valid Aadhaar document carrying the players' latest photographs to curb such frauds.
