Gujarat Titans will face Mumbai Indians in the Eliminator of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, Chandigarh, on Friday, May 30.
Both teams are set to lose some of their main players due to the international bilateral series going on between England and the West Indies. MI will miss Will Jacks, whereas GT will miss Jos Buttler and Sherfane Rutherford, who have been an integral part of the squad this season.
The winner will play the second qualifier, and the losing side will end their campaign in Chandigarh. Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan are in the best form of their career, and the opening duo will try to collect as many runs as possible on Friday.
Suryakumar Yadav is also the third-highest run-scorer of the season with 640 runs after Sudharsan (679) and Gill (649). There is a race for grabbing the orange cap going on in hindsight as well.

As the stage for Eliminator is set, here are three key player battles to look out for
1. Suryakumar Yadav vs Prasidh Krishna
Suryakumar Yadav is the leading run-scorer for Mumbai Indians this season with 640 runs and has been consistent with the bat for MI for a long time. He will try to do the same in Eliminator, but Prasidh Krishna, who has 23 wickets in this season and is the second in the race for the purple cap, will try to halt the India T20I captain. He has a variety of bowling deliveries and will try to trap SKY in one of them.
2. Sai Sudharsan vs Jasprit Bumrah
Sai Sudharsan is the leading run-scorer of the season with 679 runs and will be a pivotal player for GT on Friday. Jasprit Bumrah has a decent record this season with 17 wickets and a commendable economy rate. He will be a lethal weapon to neutralise Sudharsan and his opening partner, Shubman Gill. Sudharsan will try to take on Bumrah and use the powerplay to collect runs.
3. Rohit Sharma vs Kagiso Rabada
Rohit Sharma will come to open the batting for Mumbai Indians with Ryan Rickelton. With Will Jacks already out of the match due to his international commitments, the onus will be on Sharma to play a match-winning knock in a do-or-die match. Kagiso Rabada, who missed a few matches due to his suspension, will be back, and Sharma will be on his target to provide his side an early wicket.
