Virandeep Singh was the hero for Malaysia as he slammed a 57-ball 93 to help his team reach the 183-run target in 19.5 overs.
Earlier, Saudi Arabia captain Waji Ul Hassan won the won opted to bat first.
An opening stand of 84 in 45 balls from Abdul Waheed (82 off 52) and Faisal Khan (48 off 25) laid a solid foundation for Saudi Arabia, but Virandeep Singh claimed four wickets for 26 runs to help Malaysia limit the damage (182/7). The target of 183 runs looked a daunting one but Malaysia remained in the game always.
They scored 64/1 in the powerplay and Virandeep Singh just carried on with the bat even as wickets fell from one end. With 15 needed off the final over, a no ball turned the game in Malaysia's favour. Virandeep Singh smashed a six off the no ball and then sent the free hit for a boundary to make the equation easy for Malaysia. He then picked up a double on the fifth ball of the final over to take his team over the line.
