Thailand remain winless in the Malaysia Quadrangular T20I Series 2025 losing match 9 to the hosts Malaysia by a massive 70 runs at Bayuemas Oval, Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday. (More Cricket News)

After being asked to bat first, Malaysia put up a quite challenging total of 160/9 from their 20 overs. Skipper Syed Aziz could only manage 12 off 9 balls.

Aslam Khan (44 off 21) continued the momentum with some clean striking, while middle-order solid knocks from Amir Khan Malik (20) Ahmed Aqeel (18) and Ainool Hafizs (11). Wiraphan Ngowhuad was the pick of Thailand바카라™s bowlers, grabbing 4/37 in his four overs.

Chasing the target of 161 runs, Thailand had a horror start, losing two wickets in the opening over to  Syed Aziz and Pavandeep Singh respectively.

The chase never took off, with only skipper Austin Lazarus (23) and Phanuphong Thongsa (20) and Nopphon Senamontree (10) reaching double digits. Pavandeep ended with figures of 3/25, Virandeep Singh (2/14) and Vijay Unni (1/20) also did well with the ball, as Thailand limped to 90/8 at the end of their 20 overs.

Thailand, had lost all their previous matches. With this result they remain winless and rooted at the bottom of the table. Malaysia, meanwhile, remain the only unbeaten side in the four-team tournament. With this win the hosts secure a final spot.

In their previous meeting, Malaysia thrashed Thailand by seven wickets with 51 balls to spare. Fielding first, Syed Aziz Mubarak & Co. dismissed the Thais for 92 all out despite Akshaykumar Yadav's (50 off 46) unbeaten half century, then chased the target down in 11.3 overs.
