The rain-disrupted low-scoring match saw Mumbai Indians posting 155/8, well below par on a good batting surface after asked to bat first. Gujarat struck early as Mohammed Siraj and Arshad Khan removed Ryan Rickelton (2) and Rohit Sharma (7) cheaply. The early blows left Mumbai reeling at 26/2 in the powerplay.

But Arshad Khan nudged the final delivery for a single, sealing a three-wicket win for GT in an edge-of-the-seat finish.
With this win, Gujarat Titans moved to the top of the IPL standings with 16 points replacing Royal Challengers Bengaluru by virtue of better NRR. However, MI shift to fourth place with 14 runs. Mumbai's loss also ignited Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders' playoff push.
The match saw only 302 runs across both innings, which is the lowest match aggregate in Mumbai-Gujarat IPL history.
It also marked the first time this season none of Gujarat's top three (Gill, Sudharsan, Buttler) reached a half-century.
