Yadav crossed South African batter Temba Bavuma who previously held the world record for going past 25 in 13 straight T20 innings.
Yadav also crossed the 600-run mark and became only the third batter in the ongoing season to do so. In the running for the Orange Cap, Yadav is having his best IPL season with five fifties already to his name.
Earlier, Punjab Kings had won the toss and opted to field first in this highly crucial clash between the two teams.
The winner of this clash will be confirmed a top two finish while the loser will have to finish either at third or fourth, making their way to the trophy tougher.
