The United Arab Emirates scripted history on Thursday by clinching their first-ever T20I series win over a Full Member nation, when they defeated Bangladesh by 7 wickets to clinch the series 2-1 in the third and final T20I in Dubai. The series was level at 1-1 coming into the third game, with Bangladesh winning the first game by 27 runs, only for the hosts to roar back, claiming a famous two-wicket win in the second T20I
Speaking about the third game, UAE's Alishan Sharafu scored an unbeaten 68 not before Haider Ali's supreme bowling effort (3/7), that led to the hosts a memorable seven-wicket victory with five balls to spare.
Earlier, Bangladesh had won the toss and decided to bat but the move backfired as they found themseves dangling at 84 for 8. A brisk 40 off 18 balls from Tanzid Hasan gave them a flying start, but the middle order crumbled under pressure.
Some lower-order fightback from Hasan Mahmud (26* off 15) and Shoriful Islam (16* off 7) helped the visitors post a competitive 162/9.
