FC Goa 2-1 Odisha FC Highlights, Indian Super League: Gaurs Complete Third ISL Double Over Ten-Man Juggernauts

Goa custodian Hrithik Tiwari pulls out a top-drawer save to deny Diego Mauricio and Odisha an equaliser. Mauricio goes down in the box to a reckless Aakash Sangwan challenge. Sangwan is booked and will miss the next match, and a spot kick is ordered. But Tiwari dives to his left to brilliantly palm away Mauricio's penalty. It is only the second time in ISL that Mauricio has missed from the spot.

The scoreline stays at 1-0 in favour of home team FC Goa, going into half-time. It could well have been 1-1, if not for Hrithik's brilliant penalty save. Let's see if Odisha retaliate in the second half.

The second half gets underway on a scrappy note, as Mourtada Fall is handed a yellow card for clumsy challenge and will miss the next game. The resulting free kick leads to a shot on goal from Brison Fernandes. The shot appears to be going wide, but an unfortunate deflection from Lalthathanga Khawlhring puts the ball in the Odisha goal, and the Gaurs go 2-0 up.

The Kalinga Warriors pull one back in the 54th minute to stay in the game. Assisted by Hugo Boumous, Rahul KP slots one into the right corner from his right foot to cut the deficit and bring the tourists one goal away from parity.

Drama! Ahmed Jahouh is handed a second yellow card after he deliberate handles the ball near the half-line in the 73rd minute, and he has to walk off. Odisha now playing with 10 men, making their task of finding an equaliser that much more difficult.

Odisha's frantic efforts to find an equaliser in the dying seconds of the match come to nought, and FC Goa take a well-earned 2-1 win at home. This was the 12th outing between the two teams and FC Goa are yet to lose any.
