Threat of lightning delayed the start of the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 Group F clash between Ulsan HD and Mamelodi Sundowns at the Inter & Co Stadium in Orlando, Florida on Wednesday (June 18). Both teams and the match officials had walked out to the pitch and the game was seconds away from kick-off, when French referee Clement Turpin took them off owing to the weather warning.
Though there was no rain at the venue, dark clouds could be seen in the distance and the wind had picked up considerably. The spectators were also asked to vacate their seats and take refuge on the concourse around the stadium.
The weather forecast had suggested passing showers in the afternoon. The match was originally slated for a 3:30am IST start and it eventually kicked off more than an hour later.
