The 27-year-old double Olympic medallist launched his javelin 90.23m on his third attempt, becoming the third Asian and 25th athlete in history to breach the 90m mark.

In doing so, Chopra joined an elite club of throwers led by his own coach, Czech legend Jan Zelezny, who famously redefined the event with his series of 90m-plus efforts.

Olympic champ Arshad Nadeem of Pakistan, with a best of 92.97m, and Chinese Taipei바카라™s Chao-Tsun Cheng, who threw 91.36m, are the only two other Asian athletes to have crossed the 90-metre mark in javelin.

With Chopra's 90.23m effort in Doha, he has become just the third Asian to join this elite club.

With this effort, Chopra shattered his own Indian national record of 89.94m, set at the Stockholm Diamond League in 2022.

The 90.23m throw marks another milestone in his career, reinforcing his status among javelin바카라™s all-time greats, a legacy that began with the World U20 Record.
