This is not the first time Sharif has made the claims. Earlier he stated that Indian ballistic missiles struck the Nur Khan Airbase in Rawalpindi, amongst other targets in Pakistan on May 10.

Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif claimed that on the night of May 9-10, the country had planned on responding to India in a "measured fashion", however India launched BrahMos missiles before Pakistan could act.

While speaking at the Pakistan-Turkiye-Azerbaijan Trilateral Summit in Lachin, he said, "on the night of May 9-10, we decided to respond in a measured fashion to Indian aggression. Our armed forces were prepared to act at 4.30 in the morning after Fajr prayers to teach a lesson. But before that hour even arrived, India once again launched a missile attack using BrahMos, and hit various provinces of Pakistan, including the airport in Rawalpindi," as per NDTV.

The Pakistan Prime Minister has made the same claims earlier, stating that  Indian ballistic missiles struck the Nur Khan Airbase in Rawalpindi, amongst other targets in Pakistan on May 10.

In an event at the Pakistan Monument in Islamabad earlier this month, he said, "in the intervening night of May 9-10, around 2:30 AM, General Asif Munir called me through a secure phone and told me India has launched its ballistic missiles. One has landed at the Nur Khan airbase and some at other areas," adding that he received a call of the missile attacks from the Chief of Army Staff, General Syed Asim Munir.

The escalation happened after the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack at Jammu and Kashmir in India in which at least 26 civilians were killed. As a retaliation, India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7, targeting nine terrorist infrastructures in Pakistan. Pakistan too launched Operation Bunyan-al-Marsoos two days after that.

After four days of cross-border firing and drone attacks, India and Pakistan announced an immediate ceasefire on May 10.

Peace Talk Initiations:

Sharif, in recent speeches, has mentioned that Pakistan and India should engage in dialogue to solve all disputes. 바카라œWe want to resolve all disputes, including the Kashmir issue and the water issue, through negotiations." He added, 바카라œIf they choose to remain aggressors, then we shall defend our territory like we have done a few days ago,바카라 Hindustan Times quoted Sharif.

However, External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal at the weekly media briefing said that, "we would like to reiterate that terrorism and talks cannot go together,"

He added that Pakistan needs to hand over to India, noted terrorists, whose records and list India submitted to Pakistan some years ago. 바카라œTalks on Jammu and Kashmire will be held only on the vacating of PoK and when Pakistan hands over the territory to us. As far as the Indus Water Treaty is concerned, it will remain in abeyance till the time Pakistan credibly and irrevocably abjures its support to cross-border terrorism," Jaiswal added.
