A 22-year-old international student, Sahil Kumar, a Haryana-resident, went missing from Toronto on May 16, while on his way to college. His family last heard from him when he was leaving the Toronto station at around 1 PM Indian time.
바카라When he left the station, that is when they lost track of his whereabouts. From the preliminary reports that we have received, he was last seen at Yonge street. We cannot comprehend how he can vanish from such a main area in broad daylight,바카라 says Akshay Yadav, Sahil바카라s uncle.
Before he decided to go abroad to study, Sahil had planned to join the army. He had just started his semester on May 5 to pursue a degree in Web Designing from the Humber college in Toronto. Akshay said that 바카라We did not notice anything odd in his behaviour. In fact, he was really excited to enter this new phase of his life. All he had was a normal aspiration, to study and get a good placement there.바카라
Before Sahil Kumar Went Missing바카라
바카라The last time we talked, he said that everything was cordial and he was also settling in well. He had left India on April 24 at 3 AM via the Air India direct flight. Jatin, one of the boys from our village, was already living in Hamilton, and he had planned to stay with Jatin.바카라 he added.
All his roommates studied in different colleges. When Sahil did not show up till late evening, they began their search. When they could not find him, they notified the police that he was missing.
According to the family, the officers have stated that the privacy laws there are such that they make it difficult to access CCTV footage, beyond public spaces. 바카라We are not getting proper updates. The police have notified us that they are actively searching for him but there has been no development since he went missing 13 days ago,바카라 a family member said.
Ontario바카라s privacy regulations
Ontario바카라s Missing Persons Act came into effect on July 1, 2019, which was implemented to aid the police in locating a missing person where no criminal investigation is underway. The law came into effect so that the police could access details about the victim without a suspected crime. The law does allow access to private security footage, pending judicial approval for privacy concerns.
This clause is making it difficult to access the footage in Sahil바카라s case.

The Role of Indian Authorities
Akshay has claimed that the family 바카라reached out to both the Foreign Ministry and the Indian embassy there (in Toronto). All they have received until now are some mails stating that this is what we are doing or this is the update. The Embassy has only been repeating the same thing that 바카라the privacy laws here are very strict, so if any new information development arises, they will notify you before us바카라. We are not getting any kind of support.바카라
바카라We are waiting day and night to get any update. We do not know what else to do. No one in the family has eaten anything. I request the Foreign Ministry to put some pressure on the Indian embassy there so we can get our boy back immediately,바카라 he added further.
Missing Indians Abroad
Recently, three Indian nationals went missing in Iran. According to the victims' families, the kidnappers have sought a ransom of Rs. 1 crore.
The Iranian embassy has released a statement pertaining to the matter stating that, 바카라The case concerning the disappearance of three Indian nationals is being followed up by the Consular Affairs Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran in coordination with the relevant judicial authorities. The Embassy of the Republic of India in Tehran is also being kept informed of the proceedings within the judicial system of the Islamic Republic of Iran through coordination with the Consular Affairs Department.바카라
바카라Given the nature of this incident, Indian citizens are strongly advised not to be deceived by the promises of unauthorized individuals or illegal Indian agencies offering travel to other countries,바카라 it added further.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs data, 4,27,000 students went to Canada to pursue higher education, as of 2024. The number saw a slight dip in comparison to the 4,27,085 students who had enrolled in 2023. As per reports, nearly 40 percent of the international students in Canada are of Indian origin.
Another Indian student, Vanshika was found dead last month after she went missing for four days in Ottawa. Several Indian students have either gone missing or have tragically lost their lives in recent times.
