Hosts Newcastle United exited European competitions following their defeat at home to AC Milan, who, despite the win, failed to qualify for the UEFA Champions League 2023-24 Knockout Stage. Milan came from a goal down to win 2-1, courtesy of Christian Pulisic and Samuel Chukwueze, and will instead play in the UEFA Europa League 2023/24 Round-of-16 playoffs next.
