Deepika Padukone's alleged demands of eight-hour shift, profit sharing, whopping remuneration, and refusing to deliver her dialogues in Telugu, have initiated an interesting debate, where several celebs including actors and filmmakers have weighed in on the most-discussed topic especially the 8-hour workday. After Ajay Devgn, Kajol, Saif Ali Khan, and Mani Ratnam, now Rana Daggubati have also shared his opinion on it. Read on to know.

In an interview with The Lallantop, Rana Daggubati said, "We should understand that India is a developing country. We are not a developed nation. Our economy is probably 186th in the world if you look at per capita income."

He added, "In a country that has 1.8 billion people and 70-80 percent of those earn Rs 100 a day, when we start seeing things in that light, we realise we have a big place to catch up."

The Baahubali actor also spoke about the different work culture in different regions. Giving example, he said, "Like in Maharashtra, it's a 12-hour shift. In Telugu, it's 8 hours. But while Maharashtra starts at 9 am, Telugu starts at 7 am. If you're on location or in a studio, if you're shooting on a set, it all affects the equation. It's never generic."

On the pressure faced by the actors, he said, "Nobody is forcing anybody. It's a job. Just like nobody forces you to do a particular show - it's always a choice. Everyone decides what's important in their life. There are actors who shoot for only 4 hours, that's their system."

For the unversed, Deepika Padukone walked out of Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Spirit as her demands (mentioned above) were reportedly not met. After her exit, Triptii Dimri was taken on board to play the female lead opposite Prabhas.

Deepika has joined Atlee's upcoming magnum opus with Allu Arjun.

Rana is currently gearing up for the release of his show Rana Naidu Season 2, which will release on June 13 on Netflix.
