Former minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, who is part of an all-party delegation, has been admitted to a hospital in and is now under medical supervision, BJP MP Baijayant Jay Panda informed on Tuesday.
Panda mentioned that Azad's contributions to the meetings in Bahrain and Kuwait were highly impactful, and he is disappointed at being bedridden.
The delegation is one of the seven multi-party delegations India has tasked to visit 33 global capitals to reach out to the international community on Pakistan바카라™s designs and India바카라™s response to terror.
In a post on X, Panda, who is leading the delegation wrote, "Halfway into our delegation's tour, Shri @ghulamnazad has had to be admitted to hospital. He is stable, under medical supervision, and will be undergoing some tests and procedures," , said in a post on X.
"We will deeply miss his presence in Saudi Arabia and Algeria," he added.
All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen leader Asaduddin Owaisi, former minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, ex-National chairperson of the National Commission for Women and Rajya Sabha MP Rekha Sharma, and former foreign secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla are some other members of the delegation.
All the members visited Azad at the hospital.
Delegation Visited Kuwait, Bahrain
Panda arrived in the Saudi capital of Riyadh on Tuesday along with the delegation.
During the visit, the delegation is scheduled to interact with a cross-section of political dignitaries, government officials, thought leaders and members of the Indian community.
They earlier called on Kuwait's Deputy Prime Minister & Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Sherida A S Al-Maousharji and apprised him of India's recent actions to combat cross-border terrorism.
The delegation earlier visited Bahrain and briefed Bahrain's Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa about the challenge of cross-border terrorism facing India and New Delhi바카라™s firm resolve to combat it.
It also met Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, the chairman of Shura Bahrain, the upper house of the legislative body of Bahrain and underscored India바카라™s resolve to fight against terrorism and strengthen bilateral ties.
