The cordon and the subsequent gunfight continued in several areas, resulting in the death of three militants.
According to the Army, based on specific intelligence of a Rashtriya Rifles (RR) unit about the presence of militants in the Shopian's area, they launched a search operation during which militants opened heavy fire and a fierce firefight ensued.

Earlier, the encounter started between the security forces and militants as a joint team of police, army, and the CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in the area. As the security forces approached the suspected place, militants hiding in the area opened fire, and in the ensuing gunfight, three of them were killed.
According to local residents, Shukhroo is a forest area where most of the Gujjar population from Pahlipora currently remains in the dhoks (thatched houses), adding that the encounter started between the security forces and militants in the forest range only.
This is the first gun battle that started between security forces and militants after India and Pakistan announced a ceasefire, which followed a series of drone and missile strikes on each other바카라s territory by the two countries.
