The government on Wednesday suspended senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer Reny Wilfred following the initiation of a criminal investigation into sexual harassment allegations against him.

Wilfred, who was serving as Secretary in the state바카라™s Finance Department, is under scrutiny after the Nagaland State Commission for Women (NSCW) filed a formal complaint alleging sexual misconduct. An FIR was subsequently registered in April at the state police headquarters, and a criminal case is now underway under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including charges of sexual harassment and outraging the modesty of women.

In a suspension order issued by Chief Secretary J Alam, the state said, 바카라śThe government of Nagaland has placed Reny Wilfred, IAS under suspension w.e.f. 21.05.2025 vide Order No.PAR-A/06/2021-AIS, dated 21.05.2025.바카라ť

Wilfred has denied the allegations.

The NSCW complaint reportedly stems from multiple testimonies gathered in February from women who had worked under Wilfred during his tenure as joint secretary at the Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN), where he held additional charge. The state government relieved him of that position on April 4.

The investigation has since been escalated with the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) by the state police바카라™s crime cell to probe the matter further.

In addition to the current case, Wilfred is already facing trial in a separate sexual abuse case involving two minor girls from Noklak district. He had previously served as deputy commissioner of the district between 2020 and 2021.

Authorities say the ongoing investigations are being treated with utmost seriousness and are being closely monitored.
