Gujarat Titans바카라™ Indian Premier League 2025 campaign came to a heartbreaking end as they fell 20 runs short of a mammoth 229-run target set by Mumbai Indians in the Eliminator in Mullanpur.
Follow the highlights HERE.
Opting to bat first on a drier surface, MI posted an imposing 228/5, thanks to power-packed performances from Rohit Sharma (81 off 50) and Jonny Bairstow (47 off 22).
Bairstow, replacing Ryan Rickelton in the XI, made an instant impact on his debut for MI. The Englishman, fresh off two county fifties, wasted no time unleashing an assault on Titans바카라™ best pacer of the season, Prasidh Krishna, taking him for 26 runs in the fourth over.
Rohit joined the party soon after, launching Sai Kishore for a pair of boundaries and sixes to ensure MI ended with their best powerplay of the season -- 79 without loss.
The Titans didn바카라™t help themselves either, dropping catches including two of Rohit, who made them pay in full. Gerald Coetzee and debutant Kusal Mendis both put down straightforward chances, as the MI opener capitalised with his highest score of the season.
Suryakumar Yadav (33 off 20) and Tilak Varma (25 off 11), played crucial cameos in the middle overs. Skipper Hardik Pandya added the finishing touch with two sixes off Coetzee in the final over, powering MI beyond the 225-run mark for the second time in the season.
Chasing 229 in a knockout is always daunting, but Sai Sudharsan gave Titans hope with a masterclass. He scored 80 off 49 balls, and became the second batter to aggregate 700-plus in an IPL edition before turning 24, after Shubman Gill in 2023 (890).
GT skipper departed for just one in the first over as Trent Boult trapped him with LBW.
Washington Sundar played his most impactful knock of the season with 48 off just 24 balls.
However, Jasprit Bumrah brought MI back with a classic yorker to dismiss Sundar, and Sudharsan바카라™s dismissal -- trying a scoop off Richard Gleeson -- in the 16th over proved the game changer. Titans still had a chance with 36 needed off 12 balls and the likes of Tewatia and Rutherford at the crease.
But, the Gujarat Titans eventually fell short at 208/6, marking their exit from the tournament.
