Punjab Kings (PBKS) took a big step in their charge towards their maiden Indian Premier League trophy by winning IPL 2025 match 69 against Mumbai Indians (MI) by seven wickets on 26 May. The win secured a place in Qualifier 1 for PBKS, etching captain Shreyas Iyer바카라™s name in IPL captaincy history. (As It Happened)

What makes the win even more impressive is that, despite being the highest spenders in the IPL 2025 auction, Punjab Kings opted to play six uncapped players during the must-win match against MI.

The six players, most of whom are regulars in Ricky Ponting바카라™s plans this year, did not disappoint, leading PBKS to their first playoff appearance in 11 years. Let바카라™s have a look at those six uncapped gems who took the field during MI vs PBKS at Jaipur.

Priyansh Arya

One of the biggest success stories this year, 23-year-old Priyansh Arya grabbed PBKS바카라™ attention after a blistering performance in the Delhi Premier League, and was acquired for INR 3.8 crore. Since then, the opener has scored 424 runs at a striking rate of 183.55, including a century and two fifties. One of those half-centuries came against MI in the last match, where he scored 62 off 35 to give his team a perfect start in the chase.

Prabhsimran Singh

One of the two players retained by PBKS ahead of this season, the INR 4 crore wicketkeeper-batter has scored 499 runs in 14 matches this season 바카라“ only captain Shreyas Iyer has done better. With a strike rate of 165.78, he has been the perfect player to complement Arya, and the two have led Punjab바카라™s top-order batting this season.

Nehal Wadhera

One of the more understated players in the Punjab side, INR 4.2 crore signing Nehal Wadhera has scored 298 runs in 13 matches, despite coming in at number five. With a strike rate of more than 152, Wadhera has been the perfect player to wrap up the match for PBKS, as he did alongside Iyer against MI.

Shashank Singh

What a story Shashank Singh has written for himself in PBKS colours. Retained for INR 5.5 crore, the batter has scored 284 runs in 14 matches, scoring at an average of 56.80. While his run output has dropped a bit from last year (354), that is due to him dropping down deeper to number six, but his presence is vital in close games, as shown by the unbeaten 59-run knock against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on 4 May.

Harpreet Brar

After six seasons on the fringe, few would have expected the 29-year-old to have much impact in PBKS바카라™ season, but the left-arm spinner has taken 10 wickets in seven matches so far 바카라“ a career-best record for Brar. Striking at an average of 17.20, he has been lethal of late, taking seven wickets in his last four games for PBKS.

Vijaykumar Vyshak

The least known player on this list, Vijaykumar Vyshak was bought for INR 1.8 crore by PBKS. The medium pacer has been made to wait for his chances, playing just three times so far. However, the skipper trusted him against Mumbai Indians, and he rose to the occasion with figures of 2/44 in four overs. Fans can expect to see more of him in the playoff matches.
