Coming to bat at number three, Pant took 29 balls to reach his second half-century of the season. But he changed gears after that and reached the next fifty runs in just 25 balls.
LSG captain promoted himself in the batting order above the in-form Nicholas Pooran and remained not out when LSG made 227 runs against the powerful bowling attack of Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Ekana Cricket Stadium.
Pant hit 11 fours and eight sixes during his second ton in IPL history. His first hundred came against SRH at Delhi in the 2018 season.
Before this match, he was averaging 13.73 and made 151 runs in 13 innings for LSG. He is also the most expensive player of the season with a price tag of INR 27 Crore.
Pant added 152 runs for the second wicket with Mitch Marsh, who hit yet another half-century of the season. He finished this IPL season with 623 runs.
Earlier, RCB won the toss and elected to field first in a must-win game.
