Days after the cross-border hostilities between India and Pakistan paused upon reaching a ceasefire agreement, Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday, for the first time, admitted that India's precision strikes took place targeting their key airbases as part of Operation Sindoor in the early hours of May 7.
Addressing an event held at the Pakistan Monument on Friday, Sharif said that he was woken up at 2.30 am by Army Chief General Asim Munir, moments after the Indian operation began.
바카라General Munir called me personally at 2.30 in the morning to inform me about the strikes. It was a moment of grave concern,바카라 Sharif told reporters in Islamabad.
The head of the BJP's National IT Department, Amit Malviya, shared the video on X.
"Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif himself admits that General Asim Munir called him at 2.30 a.m. to inform him that India had bombed Nur Khan Air Base and several other locations. Let that sink in -- the Prime Minister was woken up in the middle of the night with news of strikes deep inside Pakistan. This speaks volumes about the scale, precision, and boldness of "Operation Sindoor," Malviya wrote.
Earlier, as the tension escalated between the two nations, Pakistan had earlier made false claims of destroying India's S-400 air defence system, also known as 'Sudarshan Chakra', at Punjab바카라s Adampur Airbase with JF-17 fighter jets.
However, India firmly refuted the claims and PM Narendra Modi바카라s recent visit to the base dismantled the disinformation campaign.
Pakistan also claimed that India바카라s strikes targeted its civilians. However, the Chief Minister of Sindh province confirmed that the Bholari Airbase was hit, killing six air force personnel 바카라 supporting India바카라s claim that it targeted military sites, not civilians.
Indo-Pak Tensions
India on May 7, carried out precision strikes under 'Operation Sindoor' targeting the terror infrastructure of Pakistan in response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 people.
Following the Indian action, Pakistan attempted to attack Indian military bases on May 8, 9 and 10. The Indian forces launched a fierce counter-attack on several Pakistani military installations.
After US intervention, India and Pakistan reached an understanding on May 10 to end the military confrontation after four days of intense cross-border drone and missile strikes.
