Kelsey Mitchell led a balanced attack with 17 points, and the Indiana Fever beat the Chicago Sky 79-52 in a game that lost some of its preseason buzz.
The game was moved to the United Center to accommodate the large crowds that have followed the Fever since last season, largely due to Caitlin Clark. Clark missed her fourth straight game with a quadriceps injury but is reportedly nearing a return.
Even without Clark, Indiana cruised on Saturday with four players scoring in double figures.
Natasha Howard scored 13 points, Aari McDonald had 12 and Aliyah Boston added 11.
Sky point guard Courtney Vandersloot suffered an apparent knee injury in the first quarter and needed to be helped off the floor.
Angel Reese had 12 rebounds for Chicago but finished with four points on 2-for-7 shooting.
Valkyries rout Aces, set franchise scoring mark
Kayla Thornton had 22 points and 11 rebounds, and the Golden State Valkyries walloped the Las Vegas Aces 95-68 on Saturday.
The expansion Valkyries exploded for 34 points in the second quarter, taking a 49-28 lead into half-time, and never looked back.
Veronica Burton and Monique Billings joined Thornton by posting double-doubles. Burton had 14 points and a career-high 12 assists, while Billings finished with 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Reigning and three-time MVP A바카라ja Wilson led the Aces with 17 points but was just 5 of 13 from the field.
Chelsea Gray scored 16 points for Las Vegas, while Aaliyah Nye added 13.
Diggins helps Storm pull away from Mercury
Skylar Diggins finished with 26 points and seven assists, Gabby Williams added 21 points and the Seattle Storm beat the Phoenix Mercury 89-77.
Diggins made four 3-pointers and added two steals in setting a new season high for points in the victory.
Williams had a season-high seven assists while shooting 5 for 6 from 3-point range. After a slow start to the season, she is averaging 18.6 points over her last five games.
Satou Sabally had 22 points, five rebounds and six assists for the Mercury, but she was 7 for 20 from the floor.
