Caitlin Clark could return to action for the Indiana Fever as early as Tuesday, having missed their last three games with a left quad strain.

Clark, the reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year, started the 2025 season in excellent form.

She averaged 19 points, 9.3 assists and six rebounds in the Fever's first four games of the campaign, despite the team getting off to a 2-2 start.

In her absence, Indiana suffered back-to-back defeats to the Washington Mystics (83-77) and the Connecticut Suns (85-83), though they responded with an 85-76 victory over the Mystics when they met again on Tuesday.

Next up is a road game against the Chicago Sky on Saturday, and while Clark will miss that trip, she has not ruled out returning against the Atlanta Dream on Tuesday.

"I'll miss this weekend's game but after that, it's day-by-day and I'll see how I feel, and just turn to the medical staff and what they think," Clark told reporters after practice.

"I feel like I've made a lot of progress and I feel good, and I'm not going to rush coming back. It's just not worth it.

"But after this weekend, I'll be reevaluated and we'll have a better idea of when I'll return.

"We're trying not to put an exact date out there, because it is a day-by-day thing and I'll have to see how I feel.

"It's the type of injury where, when I wake up, I'll feel different to the day before. We'll see. It could be a possibility, but I could also not be available for that game, too."

The Fever are third in the early-season Eastern Conference standings at 3-4, with the New York Liberty making a stunning 8-0 start. New York are one of two perfect teams in the league, with the Minnesota Lynx also 8-0 in the West.

However, Clark has been impressed by her team-mates' recent performances, crediting coach Stephanie White for instilling plenty of fight into the roster.

"I think they've been really resilient," Clark said. "It's hard when your point guard goes out, who controls a lot of the game and people have had to step into positions that maybe they haven't before.

"Things aren't going to be perfect. We're playing a little bit differently than we'd probably play if I had the ball in my hands.

"I thought we played a really great game, our last game versus the Mystics. I thought we started to flow a little bit better on offense.

"I thought we could have played a lot better defensively. So whether I'm out there or not, those are things that we could do better with, and Steph has really challenged them."
